بيان صحفي صادر عن جمعية حلم تبعاً لما حصل في الدكوانة

بعد مضيّ أكثر من أسبوع على حادثة ملهى الدكوانة، حيث قامت شرطية البلدية- بمبادرة محلية بحتة، ودون أي تنسيق مع النيابة العامة- باعتقال عدد من المواطنين اللبنانيين والسوريين بصورة تعسفية ودون أي إشعار قانوني، وبعد إقفال المؤسسة المرخّص لها من وزارة السياحة والقائمة في منطقة غير سكنية دون أية مذكرة رسمية وعلى الرغم من المعاملة اللاإنسانية التي تعرّض لها المعتقلون، والمفاخرة العلنية برهاب المثلية وبالعنصريّة تجاه المواطنين السوريين، لم تتّخذ الهيئات القضائية والإدارية بعد أية خطوة جديّة لمتابعة هذه الحادثة المشينة والتحقيق بالمخالفات الفادحة وانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان.

Within the framework of advocating against the forced tests of shame (anal tests and virginity tests) at the police stations in Lebanon, Helem is working to launch a petition and/or a march or demonstration in front of the Syndicate of Physicians and the Ministry of Justice on Friday the 10th of August 2012 (date tentative).

Thursday 26th of July 2012 : same sex marriage

Tomorrow, Thursday 26th of July 2012 will tackle the topic of same sex marriage. We will discuss the different approaches and concepts related to this marriage. See you there!

كتب هذا المقال من وحي الكلمة التي ألقيت باسم "ميم" في إطار فاعليات اليوم العالمي لمكافحة رهاب المثلية للعام 2012، الذي حمل عنوان "أنا كمان بصوّت... القانون لازم يحميني"، وأتى بتنظيم من جمعية "حلم"، في الثالث من حزيران الجاري. ألقيت الكلمة في جلسة الحوار "حول العنف الذي يطال المثليين/ات، ثنائيي/ات الميول الجنسية ومتغيّري النوع الإجتماعي والمتحوّلين/ات جنسياً". وسوف يسلّط المقال الضوء على واقع النساء عامة، والمثليات منهن خاصةً، على الصعيدين الإجتماعي والقانوني.

Thursday 26th of April 2012 : Human Right Activism for LGBT in Lebanon

Tomorrow, Thursday 26th of April 2012 we will discuss the topic of Human Right Activism for LGBT individuals in Lebanon. We will try to discuss why the LGBT Lebanese community don’t see the importance of advocating for their right and consider night life and parties a substitute to the violation of their rights.

Tomorrow Thursday 1st of March 2012 we will tackle the topic of bullying that targets homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender. We will dicuss the effect of bullying on the individual and the reole of bullying in the establishment of stereotyping in society.

This Thursday 23rd of February 2012 : The Mormon Proposition Movie screening

The Mormon Proposition sets the record straight about Mormon initiatives to reverse legislation allowing same sex marriages in California.
Directors Reed Cowan and Steven Greenstreet not only reveal the religious leaders' machinations and manipulations, they show the devastating emotional effects that the Mormons-lead anti-gay campaign has had on LGBT couples, their parents and extended families - many of whom are or were Mormon.
A discussion will follow the movie.
