This Friday 20th of January 2012 we will tackle the topic of Youth Policy Document which is on the Lebanese Ministry agenda. The document is the result of 12 years of work done through the Youth Forum for Youth Policy, in which Helem organization is a member.
The Youth Forum is formed of youth organizations and youth wings n political parties. It operates in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the aim to have national youth friendly policies in Lebanon.

The 2 studies published by HELEM on The Rights of Male and Female Homosexuals at Universities, and Homophobia in Clinical Services in Lebanon: A Physician Survey are now available in English.

Homosexual Relations in the Penal Codes:General Study Regarding the Laws in the Arab Countries with a Report on Lebanon and Tunisia By nizar SAghieh and Wahid Farshishi is now available in English

Tomorrow’s meeting Friday 13th of January 2012 we will discuss violence from the authorities in detention and imprisonment facilities. What are the forms of violence that occurs in detention and imprisonment facilities? What are the Psychological and medical consequences on the individual? Are homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender individuals exposed to these forms of violence? What can we do?
We will discuss all these questions and many more.

This Friday, 16th of December 2011 we will tackle the topic of support group. What is support? What does a support group means? What does a group provide us with? Why is it important for human beings to be part of a group? How do we organize a support group? We will try to answer all these questions.
Many exercises will provide us with a mean to have a closer look to reality.

Helem will close on the 22nd of November 2011 for the occasion of Lebanon Independence.

Tomorrow Thursday 12th of November 2011 we will tackle the subject of discrimination toward LGBT individuals at universities and in the work place. We will discuss the causes and consequences of discrimination on the psychosocial level.

Tomorrow, Thursday 3rd of November 2011, our meeting will tackle the role of the social worker and the intervention he does on individuals, families and groups levels. We will also speak about the work he does with individuals and groups from the LGBT community and the social help Helem provides.

This Thursday 27th of October 2011 our meeting theme is sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity. Our discussion will tackle the extent of sexual orientation, gender identity and sexual behavior in addition to the importance of respecting differences. We will also study the representation of identities and orientation in order to develop our appreciation of gender and sexuality related issues.
